10 Least Liked Holiday Songs: What's Yours?

Odds are there's at least one Christmas recording filling the airwaves each December that you absolutely, positively cannot stand.

Maybe it's something about the vocalist. Maybe the song brings up less than cheerful memories. Maybe the carol itself is just plain awful.

Whatever the reason, you're not alone. Edison Research, a company specializing in marketing and polling, has published a list of least liked holiday songs for 2012.

To compile its rankings, the company polled a group of 200 women ages 30-49 "who said they liked or loved hearing Christmas music on the radio." (The sample may be somewhat unrepresentative of the broader population, but we're willing to bet a few of these recordings would show up on a great many "least favorite" lists.)

Coming in a regrettable first place was "Jingle Bells" by The Singing Dogs, a 1955 standard that many would rather relegate to the dustbin of musical history. Hot on its heels: "The Man With All The Toys" by The Beach Boys and "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth” by Spike Jones.

On the flipside, the company found the late Andy Williams’ "It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" to be the crowd favorite. "You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" also fared well.
