3. SPMS Middle School Student Interviews Meteorologist Justin Berk

AΒ Severna Park MiddleΒ student got to interview meteorologist Justin Berk and get a taste of the reporting world thanks to an online magazine calledΒ My-Say.

My-SayΒ is an online publication written by, and for, middle school students across the state. It offers tweens and teens the opportunity to explore, learn and write about issues that interest them.

4.Β Severna Park Native Among Those in Seton Hill Bus Crash

A bus carrying theΒ Seton Hill UniversityΒ women'sΒ lacrosse teamΒ crashed Saturday morning on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, killing the team's coach and the bus driver. Twenty other passengers were reportedly injured in the crash. The team had four players from Maryland including goal keeperΒ Kaitlyn FlaskerudΒ who played atΒ Severna Park High School.

5. Rita's Gives Away Hundreds of Free Cups of Ice

Wednesday is one of Rita’s most highly anticipated days of the yearβ€”the first day of spring, which means free Italian ice for all.

TheΒ Rita’sΒ in Severna Park will give away seven-ounce cups of Italian Ice all day Wednesdayβ€”an endeavor owner Rob Marcus says takes several days to prepare for.
