Where to Cut Your Own Christmas Tree in South County

Cut your own Christmas tree this year at one of these Southern Anne Arundel County tree farms.


Make a new family tradition this year, and head out to cut down your own, fresh Christmas tree. Here are a few places in South County where you can saw down your own conifer before hauling it home and erecting it in the living room. 

Friendship Trees
Where: 6950 Old Solomons Island Rd, Friendship 
Hours: Opens for the season 9 a.m. Nov. 29. Hours are 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekends.
Details: Bring a saw when you visit this South County farm and cut down your own fir, spruce or pine tree. Check out the Friendship Christmas Shop for ornaments, wreaths, tree stands and more. Call 301-855-5756 to confirm hours and tree availability. 

Harwood Hills Farm
Where: 796 Harwood Rd, Harwood 
Hours: Opens for the season 10 a.m. Dec. 7. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays
Details: Available varieties include Douglas Fir, Blue Spruce, Canaan Fir, Colorado Blue Spruce, Fraser Fir and White Fir. Saws are provided. Call 410-798-0278 to confirm hours and tree availability.

Modlin's Tree Farm
Where: 5910 Little Rd., Lothian
Hours: Opens for the season 8 a.m. Nov. 29. The farm is open daily through the holidays from 8 a.m. until dusk.
Details: Available varieties include Blue Spruce, Canaan Fir, Douglas Fir and White Pine. Call 301-643-3147 to confirm hours and tree availability.
