Man Leads Police On High-Speed Chase In Takoma Park
Leon Danthony Powell led police on a high-speed chase in Takoma Park before he crashed into a parked vehicle.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — A 23-year-old DC man led police on a high-speed chase before he crashed into a parked car in Takoma Park, police said.
At about 1:15 a.m. Monday, police responded to the Econo Lodge in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Ave. Leon Danthony Powell, who was wanted for armed robbery in DC, was driving in the area, police said.
Police attempted to pull Powell over, but he continued and drove over the median barrier on to southbound New Hamsphire Avenue. Powell kept driving at a high rate of speed before he collided with a parked, unoccupied vehicle in the 8100 block of Lockney Ave., police said.

Powell exited the vehicle and was immediately apprehended by police without further incident. Powell was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
