Man Shoots Woman He Met Through Social Media In Takoma Park

TAKOMA PARK, MD — A woman was shot by a man she met online in Takoma Park Thursday night, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 8300 block of Flower Ave. at about 7:55 p.m.

Police said the woman met the suspect on a social media app.

The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was armed with a black and silver handgun.

Police describe the suspect as a black male with medium complexion. He has a thin build and is about 5'5" to 5'7". He wears glasses, has short hair and was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark blue shorts, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
