• Automated Stop Sign Camera Tickets Begin Jan. 8 (mocoshow.com) — Starting today, Jan. 8, drivers in Takoma Park can receive $40 tickets from new automated stop sign cameras at ten local intersections, many near schools and busy pedestrian areas. After a 30-day warning period, the four-year pilot program now issues real citations, with police stressing safety, privacy protections, and human review of each violation.
   

• DC Man Arrested in Montgomery County in Connection With Recent Burglaries (mocoshow.com) — Takoma Park Police say they’ve arrested a Washington, DC man linked to recent overnight burglaries in the city, following a 3 a.m. patrol near Cedar and Tulip Avenues. Officers report he matched prior descriptions from Cedar Avenue incidents and was already wanted by both Takoma Park and Montgomery County police.
