Police Charge Two in Maple Avenue Robbery

Takoma Park detectives and Prince George's County police worked on the investigation.

 

Two men have been charged in the September robbery of Maple Market.

Takoma Park Police Chief Alan M. Goldberg announced the arrest of 20-year-old Garhett C. Adams from Laurel, MD, and 20-year-old Ricardo Antron of Brooklyn, NY.

Both men are charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, use of a handgun during a felony, theft over $1,000 and conspiracy to commit all of the above offenses, according to police officials.

About 10:48 a.m. on Sept. 25, Takoma Park police were dispatched to the 7500 block of Maple Avenue to investigate the robbery of Maple Market, police said.

“Adams entered the establishment and robbed an employee at gunpoint, while Antron stood look-out. Property was stolen,” police said.

The suspects fled in a vehicle heading northbound on Maple Avenue towards Sherman Avenue to Carroll Avenue.

No one was injured.

An investigation led Takoma Park police to Adams.

Takoma Park detectives and Prince George’s County police connected Adams to multiple robberies they say he was involved in.

Prince George’s County police obtained a search warrant for Adams' home. Police found evidence connected to the Maple Market robbery.

The investigation also led detectives to Antron.

Officials obtained a search warrant on his temporary local residence and found evidence connected to the same robbery.

Adams is currently being held in the Prince George’s County Jail until he his transferred to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

Antron is being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
