Takoma Park Council to Discuss Co-op Expansion

The Takoma Junction Task Force recommended that the council let the Co-op expand.

The Takoma Junction Task Force recommended letting the Takoma Park-Silver Spring Co-op expand at it's current location at the junction and the Takoma Park City Council will discuss the possible addition on July 30 at 7:30 p.m. at its regular council meeting.

According to a report from the task force, "the city should give priority to using the C1 parcel to support an addition to the TPSS Co-op (or a like business), especially if priority is also given to expanding the present building onto the parking lot east toward Sycamore Avenue."

Letting the Co-op use the present parking lot would also help solve traffic bottlenecks at the junction and preserve space for C1 parcel to be used for public events, the task force wrote in its report.
