Ward 1 Leads Takoma Park Crime This Week

Ward 1:

Larceny

• 6900 block of Laurel Ave., on July 30th at 1:14 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect removed jewelry from a display case and fled the business without paying.

• 700 block. of Boundary Ave., on July 27 at 5:47 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) stole an unsecured bike from a yard.

Larceny from Vehicle

• 7400 block of Maple Ave., on July 29th at 8:50 a.m., officers responded to theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) removed an ipod from an unlocked vehicle.

Ward 2:

Assault

• 7600 block of Carroll Ave., on July 28th at 8:35 p.m., a male 37 was arrested for assaulting hospital staff and for having two open warrants.

Larceny

• 7600 bloc. of Carroll Ave., on July 30th at 2:44 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. A female victim advised that while in the hospital money was taken by unknown suspect(s).

Ward 3:

Commercial Burglary

• 6600 block of New Hampshire Ave., on August 1 at 5:39 p.m., officers responded to an auto theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) entered a garage by removing a fence and stole a black Cool Sports Motor Scooter.

Ward 4:

Assault

• Intersection of Maple Ave. and Lincoln Ave., on July 31st at 2:20 p.m., officers responded to an assault that just occurred. An unknown female spit in the face of a bus driver and fled the scene.

Residential Burglary

• 7700 block of Maple Ave., on July 27th at 7:37 a.m., officers responded to a burglary that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the victims’ apartment by unknown means and stole property.

Ward 5:

Larceny

• 701 Erie Ave., on August 1st at 7:25 a.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) stole an unsecured bicycle of the victims’ front porch.

Ward 6:

Robbery

• 7400 block of New Hampshire Ave., on July 28th at 12:12 a.m., officers responded to a robbery that just occurred. Three unknown male suspects assaulted and took property from a male victim after the victim chased one of the suspects from his apartment. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Larceny

• 1300 block of University Blvd., on July 27th at 2:06 p.m., officers responded to a theft that just occurred. An unknown male suspect removed items from a store and fled without paying.
