​Dr. Artemio M. Arciaga Jr., Of Timonium

Dr. Artemio M. Arciaga Jr. of Timonium, passed away, Tuesday, April 18, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife and children.

A visitation will be held at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home Inc., 1050 York Rd. (Beltway exit 26) Sunday, April 23, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m.

A Celebration of Life and Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church, 100 Church Lane, Cockeysville, Monday, April 24, at 10 a.m., officiated by Monsignor Joseph Luca. Burial will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.

Artemio (Jun) was born August 27, 1933, in Tanay Rizal, Philippines, to Dr. Artemio and Virginia Arciaga. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Medical School in Manila, Philippines. On June 16, 1958, he married the Antonia Avila (Mallonga) in Manila and together they traveled to the United States.

Dr. Arciaga was a respected longtime surgeon at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital, now University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, where he cared for generations of patients since coming to the U.S. in 1958. He enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening and spending time with his children and 10 grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Dr. Arciaga is survived by his daughter, Maria Goode and her husband John, his son, Noel Arciaga and his wife Nanette, and his daughter Cindy Hodor and her husband Jeff; 10 grandchildren, A.J., Katie, Emma, Caroline, Jack, Colin, Zakk, Ian, Marin, and Channing; his sisters Emy Magwili and Cora Trinidad and brother Benjamin Arciaga; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Arciaga in 2009, his parents Dr. Artemio and Virginia Arciaga, his sister Ophelia, and brother Carding.
