Driver Charged With DUI In Double Fatal Timonium Crash

Police said the woman was on probation for another DUI when the collision occurred.

TOWSON, MD — Police said the driver of a Kia Sorento that hit and killed a woman and her 5-year-old granddaughter as they were out for a morning walk Monday has been charged with DUI, among other offenses. It is the second time the Timonium woman has been charged with drinking and driving.

Callie Noble Schwarzman, 22, of the 200 block of Chantrey Road, was arrested Tuesday night on a warrant for violation of probation related to a drunk driving offense in Carroll County in June 2017, according to authorities. Investigators said they obtained a warrant for her arrest Wednesday morning for DUI and vehicular homicide charges connected to Monday's crash in the Lutherville-Timonium area.

Schwarzman has been charged with the following offenses in Monday's crash:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Driving while impaired by alcohol
  • Driving while so far impaired by drugs/ drugs and alcohol that cannot drive safely
  • Driving while impaired by controlled dangerous substance
  • Negligent manslaughter by automobile (two counts)
  • Homicide by motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol (two counts)
  • Homicide by motor vehicle while impaired by drugs (two counts)
  • Homicide by motor vehicle while impaired by controlled dangerous substances (two counts)

Officials said that Schwarzman was driving south on Girdwood Road when she lost control of her vehicle just south of Treherne Road.

She veered across the roadway and onto the sidewalk, police said, hitting Deborah Limmer and her granddaughter, Delaney Gaddis, who was being pushed in a stroller.

The vehicle returned to Girdwood Road and stopped before Londonderry Road, according to officials.

Limmer, 60, of the 2300 block of Pot Spring Road, was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where police said she was pronounced dead. Gaddis, 5, was taken to Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead as well, officials said.

Schwarzman was taken to the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and consented to a blood test after the crash, which has been submitted for analysis, police said, and the results are pending.

Law enforcement officials said that there was evidence of alcohol and a controlled dangerous substance in the vehicle, which investigators obtained a warrant to search following the deadly collision.

Schwarzman is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review hearing.
