PGA: Lutherville's Hutsell Slips in Second Day Standings

The defending Maryland Cup champion is currently tied for the lead in the Mid Atlantic PGA Professional Championship.

Perhaps the best—at least highest ranked—golfer in Lutherville is now tied for first in the 87th annual Mid Atlantic PGA Professional Championship, slipping slightly after leading first day of the tournament. 

is level with Chip Sullivan, of Troutville, Va., after the second day on the links at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA, according to a release. 

Hutsell, PGA director of instruction at the , finished a solid 8-under par after the first day, only to slip slightly to 2-over in the second round on a par 73.

"Sullivan’s first round score of 69 on the River course was matched with a steady 4-under par 68 on the Woods course.  He made the turn at 1-under par and then posted birdies on holes #13, #16 and #18 to finish the back nine at 3-under par," according to the release.

The field has been cut down to 70 going into the final day, down from 165 at the start of the tournament. The top 11 players and three except players—including Hutsell—will advance to play in the 2013 PGA Professional National Championship in June.
