Lutherville Patch Unites Rescue Dog with Loving Family

A post about a rescue dog on Patch was the start of a special bond for reader Dee Gochnauer.

At Patch, we love reuniting lost pets with their owners and helping to find families for pets in need.

Patch reader Dee Gochnauer fell in love with a rescue chihuahua named Treasure upon seeing a post about the dog’s story on the Lutherville-Timonium Patch. Minutes later, she was filling out the adoption application and organizing a home visit. She ultimately adopted Treasure, now named Chessie, and the two share an irreplaceable bond.

Dee reached out to Patch to share her story.

“Six months ago I was looking at Lutherville-Timonium Patch’s timeline. You had a rescued Amish puppy mill chihuahua pictured. Her name at the time was Treasure. I had never seen a rescue dog on there before and I sure did not need another chihuahua having two already. In five minutes I was filling out the application and after a home visit and checking with our vet on the care we give to our pets, she was ours. I just wanted you to know because of your timeline we now own a ‘treasure’.

Her name now is Chessie and the sweetest little girl we could ever want. I want to thank you for posting that day the picture of her and the information for adopting.”
