After Long Wait, Oyster Bay Grille Opening Soon in Towson

The restaurant owners are aiming to open in late-August.

Seafood sourced from the Chesapeake Bay, Colorado prime meats and produce from local farms will soon be readily available to Towson area diners.

Oyster Bay Grille, described as an upscale eatery in a casual setting, will open in the next two to three weeks at 1 E. Joppa Rd.

"We're going to feature fresh, seasonal selections," said Chris Vocci, the restaurant's chef. "We locally source as much as possible but we're ultimately looking to serve the best products."

Menu items include a raw bar featuring four to five different varieties of oysters, steaks from Creekstone Farms and whole, fresh fish.

Oyster Bay Grille was initially slated to open in late 2012, but Vocci said the restaurant was held up by "red tape."

"We also did a lot of updates [from the original design]," he said.

The new restaurant is owned by brothers Nick and John Daskalakis, who worked together at The Bee Hive on Lexington Street in downtown Baltimore in the 1970s and 1980s.

Following the soft opening, a grand opening celebration is in the works for mid-September, Vocci said.

The restaurant's hours are Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Selections range from $10 to $30.
