The Arc Baltimore’s “Carats & Cocktails” Raises More Than $140,000

75th Anniversary Celebration Will Benefit Children and Adults with Developmental Disabilities

The Arc Baltimore’s recent 75th anniversary celebration, “Carats & Cocktails” presented by the Mutual of America Financial Group, raised more than $140,000 for programs and services The Arc offers for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

More than 340 guests attending “Carats & Cocktails” enjoyed an unforgettable evening at the Maryland Science Center, honoring The Arc’s pioneering legacy and celebrating the promise of its future.

Held on Saturday, October 18, “Carats & Cocktails” featured diamond and champagne giveaways, a live musical performance by Nelly’s Echo (from NBC’s “The Voice”), a DJ set of funk, soul, and R&B by Landis Expandis, a culinary spread by Rouge Catering, and a signature cocktail by Old Line Spirits.

Guests also enjoyed full access to the Maryland Science Center exhibits and participated in an auction with artwork created by artists with disabilities. Raffles for a genuine diamond valued at $1,200 - $1,600 and a three-night, $5,000 Tuscan Wine Experience for two couples raised more than $10,000 for The Arc Baltimore.

“I want to thank everyone who helped to make ‘Carats & Cocktails’ such an overwhelming success, as well as all those whose hard work, sacrifice, and personal contributions have transformed The Arc Baltimore from a small grassroots movement into a powerful force for inclusion that ensures children and adults with disabilities are valued as vital, contributing members of the Greater Baltimore community,” says Kathleen McNally Durkin, The Arc Baltimore’s Chief Executive Officer.
