Assault Involving Screwdriver Prompts Arrest Of 4 Teens At Towson Mall: Police

An assault involving a screwdriver inside a Baltimore County mall prompted the arrest of four teens, police said.

TOWSON, MD — Four teenagers were arrested after a weekend assault involving a screwdriver inside a Baltimore County mall, police said.

Officers said they were called Saturday around 8 p.m. to the intersection of Dulaney Valley Road and Fairmount Avenue for a second-degree assault and robbery of a group of teens.

Authorities said the call was initially reported as a stabbing.

Police said they later learned that one of the teenage victims suffered cuts from a screwdriver that one of the teen suspects possessed.

Officers said the assault happened in the Towson Town Center, located in the 800 block of Dulaney Valley Road.

Three teenagers were arrested and released to their parents, but authorities said one of the minors was charged as an adult with attempted murder.

Police said that male suspect, whose name was not released publicly, is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Officers said the four suspects are all between 14 and 17 years old.

Authorities said they recovered the items that were taken during the incident.

"The Baltimore County Police Department will be working closely with Towson Town Mall security to ensure that its parental guidance policy is being adhered to," officers said in a press release.
