<p>Explore the remarkable artistic journey and cultural legacy of Lain Singh Bangdel (1919–2002), widely regarded as the “Father of Modern Art” in Nepal. This collection of paintings—spanning the 1940s to the 1980s— reflects and reframes the cultural, political, and emotional realities of Bangdel’s time and traces his evolving vision as he navigated multiple worlds: colonial and postcolonial South Asia, cosmopolitan Europe, and an emerging modern Nepal.</p>

<p>The Naval Academy Band proudly&nbsp;presents a performance of the iconic jazz album&nbsp;<i>Birth of the Cool.&nbsp;</i>This concert celebrates 2026 as the 250th in the history of the United States of America and the 100th anniversary of the birthday of one of the most important and influential American musicians, Miles Davis (1926-1991).&nbsp;</p>
<p>The ethereal and at times mysterious&nbsp;<i>Birth of the Cool</i>&nbsp;arrangements&nbsp;by Gil Evans and Gerry Mulligan (among others) featured Davis surrounded by a distinct instrumentation, including the non-common&nbsp;jazz instruments&nbsp;of French Horn and Tuba. The Naval Academy&nbsp;Band&nbsp;is uniquely suited to present this beautiful and historic music. Join us as we commemorate 250 years of the United States, America's classical music, and the iconic American artist, Miles Davis!</p>

A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes  once a week and we take several field trips a year.<br /><br />Our 2’s and 3’s Program<br />In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting.<br /><br />Our 4’s and 5’s Program<br />Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week.<br /><br />Before and After School Care<br />We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary.  We are open when schools are closed.<br />We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as:<br />                ○   Table games      ○   Crafts<br />                ○   Legos                  ○   Outdoor play<br />We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system.<br /><br />Summer Camp<br />We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders.
