A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and other county officials are expected to unveil an updated online mapping tool for public use. <a href="http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/Agencies/infotech/GIS/MyNeighborhood/index.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">My Neighborhood</a> has been available on the <a href="http://baltimorecountymd.gov/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">county website</a> for several years. The Friday morning event marks the first significant redesign. County officials said in a statement Wednesday afternoon that the changes are designed to make the system more user-friendly. "People with average computer skills can now instantly find a wealth of useful information on a particular address or community such as plat maps, zoning classifications, school districts, tax maps, Census information, environmental features and much more," according to the release. All of the information available in the system is the same data already collected and used by county agencies.
