Scorching Heat Could Break MD Record, Feel Like It's 110 Degrees
Scorching temperatures could break a Maryland record this weekend. It could feel like 110 degrees outside, drawing an excessive heat watch.
MARYLAND — Temperatures may be just under 100 degrees Saturday and Sunday in Maryland, flirting with the record high on both days. The Saturday heat index may reach 110 degrees, drawing an excessive heat watch for much of the state.
The National Weather Service called them "dangerously hot conditions" and warned of high risk for heat-related illness.
"Oppressive heat and humidity will overspread the area Saturday and last into Sunday," the NWS said. "Little relief from the heat is expected Saturday night with low temperatures in mid 70s to near 80 for most, which will compound heat stress on those without air conditioning."
