Thunderstorms, Flooding Possible As 2-Day Soaker Heads To MD
Thunderstorms could spark flash flooding in Maryland, with 3 to 4 inches of rain possible in a few locations. Here's the latest forecast.

MARYLAND — Storms could be rolling into Maryland, kickstarting a possible two-day soaker with up to 4 inches of rain possible in some areas. Thunderstorms and flooding could hit Wednesday, and the rain may continue Thursday.
Most of the Baltimore-Washington metro area is under a flood watch from noon until 10 p.m. Wednesday. A watch is sandwiched between an advisory and a warning in its severity. Watches mean hazardous weather is possible, but not immediately dangerous.
"Multiple rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms will move across the area today into this evening," the National Weather Service said in its flood watch.

"Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible," the NWS said. "Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded."
