A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. An armed robbery of a Goodwill store on Joppa Road Wednesday is the latest in a string of such incidents in the county in the last week. Police were called to the store in the 1700 block of East Joppa Road at 6:43 p.m. Wednesday on a report of an armed robbery. last Friday morning. In that case, police say a man entered through the rear door and held up the manager with a handgun. The man stole $2,046 from the store safe and registers before running out the store's back door. That evening, a man armed with a BB gun . "We believe these are going to be connected, but we're still investigating," police spokesman Officer Shawn Vinson said.
