A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. From <a href="http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/agencies/executive/communications" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Baltimore County Office of Communications</a>:On Thursday, Aug. 4, Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz will join Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce President Keith Scott and participating restaurateurs to launch Baltimore County's Summer Restaurant Week, which runs August 5-20. The Manor Tavern in Monkton will host the kickoff. Restaurant Week (actually 16 days) allows diners to discover new restaurants and enjoy old favorites at a discounted price. Sixty-three restaurants throughout Baltimore County will feature fixed price, one to three course brunch, lunch and dinner menus. At the kickoff, chefs from participating restaurants will prepare some of their menu specials for sampling. Restaurants include Bonefish Grill, Eggspectation, Il Basilico Trattoria, Jimmy's Seafood, Kelsey's, Kooper's North, Kooper's Jacksonville, Liberatore's, The Manor Tavern, The Milton Inn, Mountain Branch Grille and Pub, Pappas and Ristorante Firenze.
