A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Kevin Kamenetz has another title to add to his governmental resume. The four-term councilman-turned county executive was named vice chair of the <a href="http://www.baltometro.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Baltimore Metropolitan Council</a>. The regional group, made up of elected officials from Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties, works on regional transportation, planning and environmental issues. Earlier this year, Kamenetz was of the <a href="http://www.mdcounties.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Maryland Association of Counties</a>.
