New Speed Cameras Not On Fast Track
State legislators were told Baltimore County has no immediate plans to spend limited resources for additional devices.

The Baltimore County Council fast-tracked last month, but the county isn't breaking any speed limits to get them installed, according to former Councilman Sam Moxley.
Moxley, now part of the county's lobbying team in Annapolis, said as much in response to a question from Republican Del. John Cluster during the House delegation meeting last Friday.
The new law went into effect late last month and Cluster wanted a status update on plans to add new cameras to the 15 already in school zones throughout the county.

"... The county lifted the 15-camera limit that the prior council put on," Moxley told Cluster and the other delegates. "It doesn't mean they're going to add any cameras at this time. It just means that they can add them, and there's obviously a cost involved to the setup of the cameras as well.
"The county executive has no plans at this time to go into additional costs for those," Moxley added.
