Police Plan Speed Camera for Goucher Boulevard

The new camera will be installed outside Loch Raven Academy.

If you're going too fast above the speed limit on Goucher Boulevard in Towson, prepare to smile for the camera starting next week.

Baltimore County police announced Friday that is one of five school sites planned to receive a speed camera, with installation set to happen in the "next few days," according to a release.

The release said that police will announce when the cameras are set to become operational.

The Loch Raven camera will be placed on Goucher Boulevard, between Putty Hill Avenue and LaSalle Road.

The new cameras will be in operation from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, year-round. Drivers caught going 12 or more miles per hour over the posted speed limit will receive a warning in the first 30 days after the cameras are installed, then citations after that.

The five cameras join speed cameras at 17 other locations in the county, including on Stevenson Lane behind and in Towson.
