Powerball Player Misses Jackpot By 1 Number In Baltimore County

A Powerball player missed the jackpot by one number in Baltimore County. The victor still scored a $50,000 prize.

REISTERSTOWN, MD — A Powerball player in Baltimore County missed winning a jackpot nearing $1 billion by one number, the Maryland Lottery said Monday.

The Reisterstown player matched four of the first five numbers drawn plus the Powerball number, delivering a $50,000 prize in the Dec. 1 drawing.

The ticket was sold that day at the Main Street Shell, located at 30 Main St. The winnings had not been claimed by Monday.

Nobody has hit the Powerball jackpot since early September.

Wednesday's drawing will be worth an annuity of $930 million or a one-time payment of $429 million. That would be the seventh-largest jackpot in the game's history, the USA Today network reported.

Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Powerball drawings are also live-streamed on Powerball.com.
