A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. The five-member commission in charge of redrawing the Baltimore County Council's seven districts has scheduled three public hearings in April. The three meetings, which are required by the County Charter, are scheduled to be held on April 12, 13 and 28. Towson is set to host the first of the three meetings on April 12 at 7 p.m. in the council chambers in the Old Courthouse. The commission's second hearing is scheduled for April 13 at 7 p.m. at New Town High School. The final hearing is set for April 28 at 7 p.m. at Patapsco High School. The commission is required by law to make recommendations for redrawing the districts no later than January. Council officials said they expect the commission will complete its work by June. The County Council is required to hold at least one public hearing on the commission's recommendations before voting on a final plan.
