Redistricting Commission Announces Public Hearings

Meetings scheduled for Towson, Dundalk and Owings Mills areas.

The five-member commission in charge of redrawing the Baltimore County Council's seven districts has scheduled three public hearings in April.

The three meetings, which are required by the County Charter, are scheduled to be held on April 12, 13 and 28.

Towson is set to host the first of the three meetings on April 12 at 7 p.m. in the council chambers in the Old Courthouse.

The commission's second hearing is scheduled for April 13 at 7 p.m. at New Town High School.

The final hearing is set for April 28 at 7 p.m. at Patapsco High School.

The commission is required by law to make recommendations for redrawing the districts no later than January. Council officials said they expect the commission will complete its work by June.

The County Council is required to hold at least one public hearing on the commission's recommendations before voting on a final plan.
