Report: Towson Preschool Teacher Injured in Boston Marathon Blast

A 29-year-old Towson preschool teacher was injured in an explosion Monday near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, the Baltimore Sun reports. 

Erika Brannock, who lives in Cockeysville, was in Boston with family supporting her mother, who was expected to cross the finish line at about the time of the explosion, which killed three people and left more than 100 injured, a friend of Brannock’s told the Sun. 

Brannock's friend, Ericka Leonard, told the Sun that Brannock was being treated for “extensive damage” to her feet and lower left leg. Brannock’s sister and brother-in-law are also being treated for injuries. 

Brannock, a teacher at Trinity Episcopal Children’s Center in downtown Towson, is a graduate of Towson University. 

Liz Harlan, former director at the Center, told the Sun that Brannock was "Everyone's teacher, and everyone's friend."

Trinity is providing updates of Brannock's condition on its Facebook page.

"The tragedy in Boston has touched the Trinity community in a very real way," wrote Rev. Kenneth H. Saunders III, in a post.
