Rodgers Forge Seeks Volunteers for Parade

Rodgers Forge will be the featured neighborhood in this year's Towson Area Fourth of July Parade, and residents are looking to get marching.

Janice Moore, the Forge resident gathering volunteers for the effort, said plans for the neighborhood's spot in the parade are still coming together, but she said she expects involvement from Cub Scout Pack 439—to which the neighborhood holds the charter—and students from .

"Rodgers Forge Elementary School, because it's a true community school now, they'll also be brought up front with us, with the community," she said.

The trouble is finding residents and families who really want to march in the parade on what's likely to be a scorching summer day.

"What we're getting, which is what I was expecting, is that a lot of people like to watch the parade," Moore said.

Sharon Eaken Quate, pastor of Rodgers Forge United Methodist Church, will deliver the benediction before the parade.
