SECU Naming Towson University Arena in $4.75 Million Deal
SECU will pay the university $475,000 annually over the course of 10 years.

SECU has forged a partnership with Towson University and agreed to pay the school $4.75 million for the rights to name the school's new basketball facility, The Baltimore Sun reports.
The Linthicum-based credit union will call the facility SECU Arena and pay the university $475,000 over the next 10 years, according to The Sun.
Towson University and SECU are expected to announce the partnership at a Wednesday afternoon news conference. A new logo design will also be unveiled on the floor of the arena.

The facility, which was previously tentatively named Tiger Arena, first opened in mid-June to host the Harlem Globetrotters.
The $68 million, 5,200-seat facility will generally host basketball, gymnastics and volleyball matches, along with special events such as concerts and commencements. will feature five private suites, approximately 340 club seats and 120 courtside seats. It will also house a multipurpose room and a Towson athletics hall of fame.

University officials hoped the new arena will bring buzz to the athletics program.
