Photo: Signs of Things to Come in Towson

Crews finished installing the logos of Towson City Center's largest tenants Thursday.

Where not long ago you saw a big "For Lease" sign on the old Investment Building, you'll now see downtown Towson's newest neighbors with signs atop Towson City Center.

Crews were nearly done installing the new signs for Towson University and Mile One Automotive on Wednesday.

Both logos are striking and easily visible if you're driving into Towson down York Road. But neither will light up the night sky. The of once-controversial sign legislation County Councilman David Marks sponsored last year at the tower's owner's request barred electronic signs with changeable or scrolling copy above a height of 55 feet.

Towson-area residents expressed concerns  that electronic signage atop the building could be visible as far away as Cockeysville.

Mile One Automotive will move its headquarters into the building, while will move four external-facing clinics. Each will control four floors of the 12-story building. The university's public radio station, , .
