$4.8 million Towson Road Resurfacing Project Starting Soon
Motorists may encounter lane closures and delays.

The State Highway Administration will soon update two-and-a-half miles on the Baltimore Beltway in Towson as part of a $4.8 million resurfacing project.
Starting early August, as the weather permits, crews will resurface, patch pavement, repair storm drains, improve traffic operations and more on the beltway between the York and Providence roads exits, according to a news release. The project is slated to continue through summer 2014.
During this time, motorists may encounter single and double lane closures Sundays through Thursdays between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning, and shoulder closures Mondays through Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Crews may also close and detour interchange ramps along the route on Sundays through Thursdays between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day, the release states.
"Work on the Baltimore Beltway will quite active throughout the rest of the summer," said David Peake, a State Highway Administration Engineer, in the release. "SHA asks that motorists drive with extreme caution and remain alert especially in the work zones. It will be important that everyone obeys the rules of the road and ensures that everyone gets home safely."
