State Crews to Make Improvements on York Road in Towson

The $1 million project should be finished by this fall.

As drivers have likely noticed this week, crews are in place, beginning $1 million in renovations for the next several months on York Road.

Officials expect work to be complete this fall on one mile of York Road from Towsontown Boulevard to Stevenson Lane, the State Highway Administration announced Friday.

The upgrades include new curbs, gutters, traffic detectors and sidewalks that meet accessibility standards.

The road will be patched, milled and resurfaced later this summer.

State officials said traffic will be shifted during the project and single lane closures may be necessary between Stevenson Lane and Cross Campus Drive. Those closures will be announced in advance, according to the SHA.

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) recently began the $1 million resurfacing project to improve safety and traffic operations along that mile.
