Streetscape Will Not Be Repaired Until Spring
Engineering concerns are behind the delay, a public works spokesman said.

Water main breaks are rarely pretty.
And for some in downtown Towson, the fix for is downright unattractive.
"It looks like crap right now," reader Rob Kennedy wrote on Towson Patch's Facebook page.

However, the asphalt patch laid down by road crews last week will have to remain until next spring, when crews will install new brick, Baltimore County public works spokesman David Fidler said.
"It's kind of late in the season for that. We have a snowy winter probably coming up," Fidler said. "The original line break, we are not sure what the later consequences of that are and want to wait and see."

The 8-inch main broke the morning of Nov. 1 under the intersection of Washington Avenue and Bankers Way. Baltimore City public works crews completed the repairs that evening. That section of Washington Avenue is a brick streetscape
Nancy Hafford, executive director of the , uses the streetscape for numerous events, including the of the Towson Farmers' market. Hafford concedes that the asphalt patch is less than ideal but said, "I'm just glad they didn't have to close the block for any length of time."
