Sr. Marcia will also provide an update on the journey to Sainthood for the founder of the order, Mother Mary Lange.
To be held on Friday, October 24 from 8-9:30 a.m. at Hightopps Backstage Grille (2306 York Road, Timonium), the presentation is free to all CBNB members and $20 for all others.

Sr. Marcia was raised in a devout Catholic home in Trenton, NJ, and attended Catholic schools, including Our Lady of the Divine Shepherd in Trenton where she was taught by the Oblate Sisters. Though she felt a call to religious life, she initially pursued a path that led to Bryn Mawr College and eventually a doctorate in sociology from the University of Michigan.
After a time of discernment with the Oblates, she entered the community on her 42nd birthday in 1998, professing first vows in 2001 and final vows in 2006. Among other positions, she has served as principal of the order’s flagship school, St. Francis Academy in Baltimore. Currently the order has approximately 80 members, serving in Baltimore, Miami, Buffalo, and Costa Rica.

The Catholic Business Network of Baltimore is an independent networking group whose purpose is to provide an environment for individuals to increase their faith and grow their professional lives. Founded in 2010 by a small group of Catholic business professionals looking for more meaningful networking opportunities, CBNB has grown to be one of the largest networking organizations in the Baltimore Metropolitan area.
In addition to developing meaningful business relationships that will help to enhance their professional success, CBNB members enjoy access to a variety of opportunities to live their faith through community service. CBNB also supports Catholic education in the Baltimore community, providing annual scholarship awards to two disadvantaged area youth attending Catholic high schools and supporting Catholic schools through the Catholic Community Foundation.
