Task Force Makes No Recommendation on School Board Changes
Zirkin asks 12-member task force to "leave it up to the General Assembly."

A 12-member task force charged with reviewing how members of the Baltimore County school board are selected will ultimately make no recommendations on changing the current system of appointments.
The task force, at a meeting Thursday afternoon, voted to issue a report consisting of what the panel heard at three meetings this summer. The report will also contain the documents, letters and studies given to them by the public on the issue of school board member selection.
Sen. Kathy Klausmeier, co-chair of the panel, said the final report "will be a big document" containing a summary of the three hearings and opinions from members of the task force "about parts that were important to them."

Sen. Delores Kelley cautioned task force members to not overstate the importance of various documents given to them.
"I think we should be careful not to editorialize about some of the materials that were offered to the task force," Kelley said.
