Towson Area Crime: Robbers Steal Typewriter from Car

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Armed Robbery: Oakleigh and Wycliffe Road, at 2: 55 p.m., Jan. 12. A robber walked up, displayed a handgun and then stole cellphones and money.

First Degree Burglary: 1700 block of Yakona Road, between 4 p.m., Han 10 and 2:40 a.m., Jan. 11. A burglar entered the home and stole electronics.  

Robbery: 1700 block of East Joppa Road, 1:20 p.m., Jan. 10. A robber went into Bay Bank and passed a note demanding money.

Robbery: Beverly Road and Taylor Avenue, at 4 p.m., Jan. 9. Two robbers stole a woman’s purse and her typewriter from the car she was sitting in. One of the robbers then smashed one of the car’s windows with the typewriter. 

Armed Robbery: 1300 block of Taylor Avenue, at 9:35 p.m., Jan. 8. Two robbers entered a 7-Eleven, one of them armed with a gun, and stole money from the register.

Armed Robbery: unit block of York Road, at 5:50 a.m., Jan. 6. A robber walked into the Starbucks and demanded money. The robber then ran away with the money and a credit card.

First Degree Burglary: unit block of York Road, between 4 and 4:33 p.m., Jan. 5.  A burglar entered through an unlocked rear door and stole a phone and wallet.

Armed Robbery: 6200 block of North Charles Street, at 8:40 a.m., Jan. 4. Two robbers, one of them armed with a gun, entered the Woodbrook Exxon through the back of the store. The robbers stole a lottery machine and scratch off tickets before running away. 

First Degree Burglary: 1600 block of Yakona Road, between 9 a.m. and 3:48 p.m., Jan. 4. Three burglars were arrested after they allegedly stole electronics from a neighbor’s home.

Second Degree Burglary: unit block of Acorn Circle, between 5 p.m., Jan. 3 and 1 p.m., Jan. 5. A robber pried the lock of a storage locker, but nothing was stolen.

Armed Robbery: 1000 block of Taylor Avenue, 10:09 a.m., Jan. 3. A robber armed with a gun walked into the Gamestop and stole video game systems, a cellphone, money and keys to an employee’s vehicle.

Fourth Degree Burglary: 6600 block of English Oak Road, between 3 and 3:16 p.m., Jan. 2. Several people were seen jumping from the balcony of a vacant apartment. Two juveniles and one adult were arrested.

Armed Robbery: 6200 block of North Charles Street, 6:40 p.m., Jan. 1.  A robber walked into the Woodbrook Exxon and displayed a gun. The robber then stole money, cigarettes and lottery tickets.

Robbery: 6900 block of Loch Raven Boulevard, 7:10 a.m., Jan. 1. A robber asked an employee to call him a cab. When the cab arrived the robber assaulted the driver, took his cellphone and ran away.  

Attempted First Degree Burglary: unit block Duffield Court, between 11 p.m., Dec. 31 and 2:30 a.m., Jan. 1.  A burglar tried to break in the front door and failed.

First Degree Burglary: 400 block of Dumbarton Road, between 8 p.m., Dec. 31 and 3:50 a.m., Jan. 1. A window pane on a rear door was broken.  

First Degree Burglary: unit block of Solar Circle, between 9 a.m., Dec. 31 and 8 p.m., Jan.2. Electronics and clothing were stolen from a home.

Armed Robbery: 1300 block of Dartmouth Avenue, 2:35 a.m., Dec. 31. A deliver man was pistol whipped by one robber and had cash stolen from his pants by a second robber.
