Towson Crime: Safes, Guns Stolen From Apartment

Towson
Southerly Road, 900 block. Between 3 p.m. Oct. 14 and 5 p.m. Oct. 16. Someone used keys to enter an apartment and stole one safe containing a Baltimore City police service weapon and two loaded magazines and another safe containing ammunition, body armor and keys to the apartment and cars, police said.
Ensor Avenue, unit block. Between 12:40 a.m. and 7 a.m. Oct. 16. Police say a man cut through a fence at Pollard's Towing to retrieve his car, which had been towed there. Police said they have identified a suspect. He has not yet been officially charged in connection with the incident.

Witherwood Court, unit block. Between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. Oct. 14. A laptop and charger were reported taken from an unlocked apartment. Cords were found cut, police said.
Pennsylvania and Virginia avenues. 7:50 p.m. Oct. 13. Four men approached a man and asked for money. When he told them he had none, they punched and kicked him and took a Motorola cell phone, police said.

Loch Raven
Greenway Road, 8400 block. 11:57 a.m. Oct. 15. Two children reportedly lit a phone book on fire in front of an apartment building and fled. No damage was reported.
Loch Raven Boulevard, 6800 block. 12:10 p.m. Oct. 13. At M&T Bank, someone handed a note to the teller telling her not to scream and that he had a gun. The teller handed him a bag containing an unknown amount of cash and he fled in an unknown direction, police said.
Hillendale
Oak Road, 8600 block. 12:03 p.m. Oct. 10. Two bikes were reported taken from a backyard.
English Oak Road, 6600 block. Between 6 p.m. Oct. 11 and 10 a.m. Oct. 13. Someone stole $50 in quarters from laundry machines in an apartment complex, police said.
Ashlar Hill Court, unit block. 3:10 a.m. Oct. 16. A man used a rack to break open a rear sliding door, but nothing was reported taken. Police say the man believed he was breaking into his girlfriend's apartment. Police later arrested Michael Anthony Smith, 43, of no fixed address, in connection with the incident.
