Towson Police Warn of Bicycle Thefts

The following is a message from Lt. Stephen Fink of the Towson Police Precinct.

I am sending this information out to all community members so that those closest to the affected addresses can be aware of what's going on and for those others to get the word out so that hopefully you're not affected in the same way. Listed below are locations of recent burglaries/bicycle thefts in the York Rd area of Towson. Thus far we don't have any information on those responsible but we are asking for your help in getting those involved identified, charged and property returned.

Aside from the first location-which demonstrates the importance of securing one's property-the garages were left unsecured at these various locations which allowed for easy access. Once again we ask that you remind your family, friends and neighbors the importance of always properly securing one's home, vehicle, sheds and garages to best protect all property.
If you see suspicious persons in your neighborhood call 9-1-1 so that our Officers can respond to identify them. Keep your eyes open to everything that goes on around you and not only on your property but also that of your neighbors and call us when something is not right. Suspicious/unknown vehicles parked in your neighborhood call us. Get the tag number if you can when you call so that if the car is gone by the time Officers arrive they have information to follow up on.

The more active we are as residents in our communities the less attractive we become to those who wish violate our neighborhoods. As we develop information on those responsible I will forward it to everyone to keep you informed of who and what to be looking for.

Thank you for all that you do to help keep Towson as safe as possible.
