Towson University Names Interim Athletic Director
Former Athletic Director Mike Waddell announced his resignation in May.

Towson University recently named Tricia Bradenburg, a deputy athletics director, as interim athletic director following the May resignation of Mike Waddell.
Waddell, who left his post in June, now serves as the senior associate athletics director at the University of Arkansas.
Highlights during Waddell's time at Towson include six Colonial Athletic Association championships, four coaches named CAA Coach of the Year and five students honored as CAA Player of the Year.
He faced strong criticism after recommended cutting the mens' baseball and soccer teams, citing economic concerns and Title 9 compliance.

A committee of thirteen people, including Towson University faculty, alumni and a current student athlete, has been formed to conduct a nationwide search for Waddell's replacement, according to a university report. A new director is expected to be appointed by the start of the fall 2013 term.
The director will lead more than 500 student athletes in 19 Division I intercollegiate sports.
