Boy Injures Head After Diving Into Pool

A 9-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital Thursday evening after he hit his head while diving into a pool in Upper Marlboro.

The incident occurred in the 6100 block of Blue Sage Lane around 7:30 p.m.

Fire spokesman Asst. Chief Ron Bridges told The Washington Post that the boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Officials did not report the depth of the pool, the Post reported, and could not confirm whether the child was alone.
