Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk - KICKOFF Event

When: Saturday, Aug. 25, 10 a.m.
Description: American Cancer Society will hold its third Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Watkins Park in Mount Airy.
Cost: Visit www.MakingStridesWalk.org/MountAiryMD for additional event details, to register as a participant or to form a team. Event proceeds help support breast cancer research, provide support to individuals facing breast cancer and ensure access to mammograms for women who need them.
Where: 1307 N. Main St., Mt. Airy
When: Friday, Aug. 23, 7 p.m.
Description: This fundraiser to help the Stanley Family of Mt. Airy with medical expenses. Benny Stanley was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia after only five weeks old.
Cost: $5.00 advance includes 2 game paddles $8 @ door includes only 1 game paddle.

When: Saturday, Aug. 24, 7 a.m.
Description: The GFWC Jr. Woman's Club of Westminster is hosting their 21st annual kids consignment sale. ALL proceeds go to charity. The 1/2 price sale is 2:30p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Description: Basket Bingo at the Gamber Firehall. 40 games, door prizes tickets, continental breakfast, lunch and desert. King Tut and many special raffles and extra Bingo cards available for purchase.
