McDaniel College selects Lucero Espinal as recent alumni trustee
Lucero Espinal of Westminster, Maryland, graduated from McDaniel in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Spanish and minor in Education.

McDaniel College has appointed 2020 alum Lucero Espinal of Westminster, Maryland, as a recent alumni trustee on the collegeβs board of trustees.
A first-generation college student, Espinal graduated from McDaniel in 2020 with a bachelorβs degree in Spanish and a minor in Education with a PreK-12 specialization. As a student, she was actively involved as a member of the Student Honor and Conduct Board, Student Alumni Council, and Green Life, the collegeβs environmental club. She also helped with organizing educational events to promote student belonging on campus. Espinal worked as an Admissions ambassador, a student ambassador for the Center for Experience and Opportunity (CEO), and a technician for McDanielβs IT Help Desk.
Following her time at McDaniel, Espinal returned to Howard County Public Schools, where she attended high school, to teach Spanish and career development at multiple middle and high schools. In 2023, she transitioned into higher education, working as a doctoral academic advisor at Aspen University. She joined Towson University in 2024 as an academic advisor and provides support to first-year undergraduate students.

Espinal remains connected to McDaniel through her involvement with the McDaniel Alumni Council and as an alumni volunteer with the collegeβs CEO, assisting with resume reviews, mock interviews, and career-related panel discussions.
She also earned a graduate certificate in Equity and Excellence in Education from McDaniel in 2022 and a masterβs degree in Learning Experience Design and Educational Technology from Western Governors University in 2025.
