Crime Report: Silver Spring Man Arrested After Violently Disputing Parking Ticket

Montgomery County police have released the latest crime report for the Fourth District, from April 22-30. The list published here is not comprehensive, but rather selects incidents that occurred in or near Wheaton and Glenmont.
A robbery occurred at Blueridge Avenue and Elkin Street, Wheaton-Glenmont, on Friday, April 26, at 8:30 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.
A strong-arm robbery occurred at Amherst Avenue and Elkin Street, Wheaton-Glenmont, on Friday, April 26 at 12:45 a.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.

A theft from a vehicle occurred overnight from Thursday, April 25, to Friday, April 26, in the 2400 block of Jones Lane, Wheaton-Glenmont. Vehicle parts and sunglasses taken.
A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 1500 block of Ladd Street, Silver Spring on Wednesday, April 24, at 5:17 p.m. The suspect forcefully removed property from the victim, then fled.

Arrested: Male, 21.
An aggravated assault occurred in the 11300 block of Fern Street, Silver Spring, on Saturday, April 27 at 11:35 a.m. The suspect received a parking ticket with which he did not agree, then struck the parking enforcement employee with his vehicle.
Arrested: Male, 49, from Silver Spring.
Two commercial burglaries that may be related occurred overnight Friday, April 26, to Saturday, April 27, in this Silver Spring beat:
- At CVS, 11190 Veirs Mill Rd. between 10:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.
- At Solar Nails & Spa, 11204A Grandview Ave. between 8 p.m. and 9:15 a.m. No forced entry. Property taken.
