Measles Vaccines Urged By Amid Outbreaks In Texas, Mexico: DCHD

The DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) is encouraging residents to ensure they are vaccinated against measles.

DUPAGE COUNTY — As measles cases surge in Texas and Mexico, the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) is urging residents to make sure they are vaccinated. Health officials emphasized that measles vaccinations are especially important for those who plan to travel during spring break.

As of 2023, the Illinois Department of Health (IDPH) statistics indicate that 96 percent of students in DuPage County have received their measles vaccines.

“It is essential to check your vaccination status to ensure you are protected,” DCHD Executive Director Adam Forker said in a statement.
