Police Arrest Man For 2 Wheaton Bank Robberies

Police arrested a 22-year-old man for robbing the PNC Bank inside the Giant grocery store twice in Wheaton.

WHEATON, MD — Police arrested a 22-year-old man for robbing the PNC Bank inside the Giant grocery store twice in Wheaton.

Michael J. Suah, of Wheaton, was charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of theft: $100 to under $1,500. He "made statements to his involvement in the two bank robberies" at police headquarters, , police said.

The first robbery occurred at about 2:18 p.m. November 14, 2017 at the PNC Bank inside the Giant Food at 2900 University Blvd. W.

The second robbery was at 7:03 p.m. April 13, 2018.

On Tuesday morning, a police officer was conducting a traffic stop on a car in the 11200 block of Georgia Ave. when he saw a man walking in the area. The officer immediately recognized the man matched the suspect’s description from the PNC Bank robberies, police said.

The officer stopped that individual and identified him as Suah.

Suah was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
