Police Blotter: Jan. 23-31

The Montgomery County Police have released the latest crime statistics for the Fourth District, from Jan. 23-31. This list is not comprehensive, but rather selects the ones that occurred in or very near Wheaton. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

• Residential burglary

A residential burglary occurred in the 1800 block of Snowdrop Lane, Silver Spring on Jan. 27 between 8:20 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Unforced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 200 block of Hillsboro Drive, Kemp Mill between Jan. 23 at 12:30 p.m. and Jan. 25 at 11:00 a.m. Unknown entry; property taken.

• Strong-arm robbery

A strong-arm robbery occurred at Weller Road and Matey Road, Wheaton on Jan. 28 at 4:45 p.m. The suspects forcefully removed property from the victim.

A strong-arm robbery occurred at Shorefield Road and Eaglewood Drive, Wheaton on Jan. 28 at 7:15 p.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property. Suspect: Hispanic male, 20-30, 5’11”– 6’, thin build, wearing a black jacket with a white stripe, black baseball cap.

An at the Capital One Bank, 11241 Georgia Avenue, Wheaton on Jan. 30 at 5:53 p.m. The suspect attempted to forcefully remove property from the victim but was unsuccessful.
Suspect: Hispanic male, 26-28, 5’7”.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 11100 block of Dodson Lane, Wheaton, on Jan. 25 at 8:29 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property. Arrested: Male, 18, from Landover; Male, 19, from Washington, DC.

• Armed robbery

An armed robbery occurred at Centerhill Street and Embry Street, Wheaton on Jan. 26 at 9:38 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. Suspect: Hispanic male, 30, 5’7-5’10, 180 lbs. wearing a black hooded jacket.

An armed robbery occurred in the 11400 block of Georgia Avenue, Wheaton on Jan. 27 at 2:17 a.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.

• Aggravated assault

An aggravated assault occurred on Jan. 25 at 9:10 p.m. in the 2300 block of Glenallen Avenue, Silver Spring. The suspect assaulted the victim with a weapon. Suspect: black male 20’s, 6’, thin build, stubble, wearing t-shirt.
