Police Blotter: Jan. 30 - Feb. 7

The Montgomery County Police have released the latest crime statistics for the Fourth District, from Jan. 30 - Feb. 7. This list is not comprehensive, but rather selects the ones that occurred in or very near Wheaton. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Strong-arm robbery

A strong-arm robbery occurred at the entrance to Wheaton Claridge Park (on Claridge Road in Wheaton) on Feb. 6 at 9:00 p.m. The suspects threatened the victims and obtained property. Suspects: three males, wearing ski masks.

An armed robbery/aggravated assault occurred in the parking lot of Capital One Bank, 11241 Georgia Avenue, Wheaton, on Feb. 7 at 11:15 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.

An attempted strong-arm robbery occurred at the ATM of Capital One Bank, 11241 Georgia Avenue, Wheaton, on Jan. 30 at 5:53 p.m. The suspect attempted to remove property from the victim. Suspect: Hispanic male, 26-28, 5’7”.

Residential burglary

A residential burglary occurred in the 2800 block of Munson Street, Silver Spring Feb. 4 between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Unforced entry; property taken.

Commercial burglary

Two commercial burglaries occurred at Brother Chinese Restaurant and Ruan Thai at 11401 and 11403 Amherst Avenue, Wheaton, on Feb. 6. Forced entry; property taken. Arrested: Male 24, from Wheaton.

Aggravated assault

An aggravated assault occurred in the 2600 block of Henderson Avenue, Silver Spring, on Feb. 5 at 4:30 a.m. The suspect is known to the victim.
Arrested: Male, 27, from Silver Spring; Male, 29, from Silver Spring.

An aggravated assault occurred in the 1800 block of Arcola Avenue, Silver Spring, on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim. Arrested: male, 25.

An aggravated assault occurred at Humberto’s, 11230 Grandview Ave, Wheaton, on Feb. 3 at 1:14 a.m. The suspect is known to the victim. Arrested: Male, 28, from Hyattsville.

An aggravated assault occurred in the 1400 block of Windham Lane, Silver Spring, on Feb. 3 at 5:45 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim. Arrested: Male, 47, from Silver Spring.
