Police Seek Public's Help In Locating Car In Wheaton Hit-And-Run Case

WHEATON, MD — Montgomery County Police are asking the public's help in identifying and locating a car they say was involved in a hit and run Sunday night in the Wheaton area, according to post on the department's official Twitter account.

Police officers and rescue personnel from Montgomery County Fire & Rescue responded around 11 p.m. to the area of Georgia Avenue and Janet Road for the report of bicyclist being hit by a vehicle.

The vehicle, which police believe to be a dark red or maroon 2003-2007 Honda Accord missing a side mirror, did not remain on the scene.

Anyone who can identify the car or who has information about this incident is asked to contact Crash Reconstruction Unit detectives at 240-773-6620 or 240-773-TIPS. Tipsters may also call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of a suspect in this case. Callers are not required to identify themselves.
