UPDATE: Robbers Tied Up Employees at Aspen Hill Verizon Store

The store, located in the Plaza del Mercado Shopping Center, was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday.

Update, 2:15 p.m.

Montgomery County police are searching for the men who robbed a Verizon store at gunpoint in Aspen Hill Tuesday. According to police, two men entered the store as it was closing, forced the two employees to the back of the store and tied them up.

Police officers arrived on the scene at 2221 Bel Pre Road at 8:07 p.m., after the robbers had fled with stolen phones.

According to a police statement, both suspects are described as approximately 5-foot-11.  One weighed approximately 160-165 pounds, the other approximately 175 pounds.  Both were wearing jackets and dark-colored pants.  A third male suspect may also be involved, but police did not provide a description.

Three men robbed a Verizon store at gunpoint in Aspen Hill Tuesday, WUSA9 reported. According to Montgomery County police, the robbers tied up two employees before fleeing the scene, taking cash and phones with them.

The store is located at 2221 Bel Pre Road, in the Plaza del Mercado Shopping Center.
